Kevin has been a trusted name in the audio industry for over 20 years. He started his career in Chicago, IL working at the historic Paragon Studios as an assistant engineer. He then moved to Boston, MA where he attended Berklee College of Music majoring in Music Production & Engineering. After graduating Berklee, Kevin was hired at Sony Music Studios in midtown Manhattan as an assistant mastering engineer and eventually was promoted to staff mastering engineer. While at Sony, Kevin worked on a wide variety of projects for artists including Billy Joel, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Beyonce, MUSE, Mastodon, Bob Dylan, Harry Connick Jr., and many more. 

In 2007, Sony announced it would be shutting down operations and the building would be sold / demolished. Luckily, Kevin was able to purchase the entire room he worked in while at Sony (originally designed by renowned acoustician George Augsperger) and then was able to rebuild it in Brooklyn at Blackler Mastering.

Some of the artists Kevin has mastered while at Blackler Mastering include several artists under Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation. Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes. Sean Ono Lennon. Jazz legends Lee Konitz, Wallace Roney, Tootie Heath, and Joey DeFrancesco. Rap legends Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) and PLIES. Reggae legends Buju Banton, Beenie Man and Toots and the Maytals. Various Ken Burns Motion Picture Soundtracks for PBS, and a 2020 Grammy nomination for an album he mastered by Saxophonist Melissa Aldana.
